Unload the Weight

Have you ever observed professional horse racing? Did you
notice the size of the jockeys? The owners make every effort to
reduce the weight their racehorse must carry, that means they
want small, light riders. The effect of this "unloading" any excess
weight is to run the race with speed and efficiency.
Paul wrote to the Hebrews urging them, "...let us lay aside
every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us
run with endurance the race that is set before us" (Heb. 12:1).
I have to wonder if some of us are trying to run our race m
Christ while carrying overstuffed suitcases. Even worse, some of
us are staggering down the course with a top-heavy stack of
baggage so high we can't even see where we are going!
Satan does everything he can to overload us with the
baggage of the world and the entangling cares of life. God, on
the other hand, wants us to unload everything He never gave us
in the first place. He promises to help us bear our burden, but
only if it is "His burden"

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light .
