For precept must be
upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, and there a
little: (Isa. 28:10).
Spiritual growth
denotes change after change after change. Those called up to Zion are ever being changed "from strength to strength"
(Ps. 84:7), "from faith to faith" (Rom. 1:17), and "from glory to glory" (2 Cor. 3:18).
Our spiritual metamorphosis, our maturing in grace is a steady ascent into the hill of the Lord.
Moses and His friends
experienced the Old Testament Mount of
Transfiguration when they were called up to the place of worship. The entire setting
is a picture of the Feast of Tabernacles.
Then went up Moses,
and Aaron, Nadab,
andAbihu,
and seventy
of the elders of Israel:
And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under His feet as it were a
paved
work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in His clearness.
And upon the
nobles of the children
of Israel he laid not
His
hand:
also they saw God, and did eat and drink (Exod. 24:9-11).
And they saw the God of Israel{that is, a convincing manifestation of
His presence)... (Exod. 24:10, AMP).
Zion is the mountain of change, the place of transformation. Jesus
and His three disciples descended
from
the mountaintop
to bring deliverance. We are called to roar out of Zion and to go into the earth to bring "a convincing manifestation of His presence."
When we preach salvation, men and women
are saved, but not changed. When we teach about the Holy Ghost, men and women are filled with the Spirit,
but not transformed. The only message
that will transform people and change the world is the gospel of the Kingdom, the message of Zion!
Yet it is not enough
to hear about Zion. We must have a meaningful relationship with the King and His brethren who live there with Him, or we will never be changed. May this be our prayer.
