It is extremely important to know who we are, because what we do flows out
of who we are, including our relationships. Getting a grip on who He is and
who we are in Him will also revolutionize how we relate to one another. It
literally changes our emotional chemistry to encounter the majesty, beauty,
sweet affection, stunning mystery and splendor of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.
It is also what will make our ministries more loving rather than legalistic.
We are becoming a greater reflection of who He is.
So how do we begin to feel beautiful before the Lord? It happens
as we allow God to crucify the old self. “That I may know Him
and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being conformed to His death” (Philippians 3:10) First the heart cry to know
Him must come, and then the willingness to pay the high price. This requires us
to identify with Him in His death before we can he raised to new life (resurrection).
